1. About rambutanw

rambutanw is a mechanical watch repair and restoration studio located at 71 Jalan Tun Ismail, 25000 Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. We offer bench services to owners of mechanical and vintage wristwatches. These terms apply to all services arranged through this website or by direct contact with the studio.

2. Scope of Services

rambutanw offers the following bench programmes, among others:

• Watch Regulator Adjustment — adjustment of rate across multiple positions; RM 230
• Wristwatch Complete Service with Vintage Bracelet Refit — full overhaul and bracelet attention; RM 980
• Watch Care Calendar Conversation — an informational session on routine care habits; RM 110

Service descriptions on this website are informational. The studio reserves the right to decline or modify a service scope following bench assessment if the condition of the piece warrants a different approach. Any change to an agreed scope will be communicated to the owner before work proceeds.

3. Enquiries and Appointments

Submitting an enquiry through this website does not constitute a booking or agreement to provide services. An appointment is confirmed only when rambutanw acknowledges it in writing by email or telephone. The studio will respond to enquiries within three working days where possible.

Owners are asked to describe their piece and the nature of their concern as accurately as they are able. The studio does not rely solely on written descriptions; all pieces undergo bench assessment on arrival.

4. Pricing and Payment

Prices quoted on this website are current at the date of publication and are expressed in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Prices are subject to revision without prior notice. The price applicable to any commissioned work is the price confirmed at the time the service is agreed, not necessarily the price displayed on the website at the time of enquiry.

Where an assessment reveals that a piece requires work beyond the original scope, a revised estimate will be shared with the owner before any additional work proceeds. Payment terms are discussed and confirmed at the point of service agreement.

5. Collection and Return of Pieces

Owners are responsible for arranging delivery and collection of their pieces to and from the studio. The studio does not collect or dispatch pieces by post or courier as a default; where an owner requests postal handling, this is arranged separately and at the owner's risk and cost.

The studio will hold a completed piece for collection for up to 60 days from the date the owner is notified. After this period, storage arrangements will be discussed directly with the owner.

6. Care During Service

rambutanw handles all pieces with care appropriate to their nature and condition. The studio will document the condition of a piece on arrival and note any pre-existing damage or concerns. Owners will be informed of findings before service proceeds.

The studio takes reasonable precautions to prevent damage during bench work. Where a piece is assessed as being in a fragile or deteriorated state that may affect the outcome of service, the studio will share this assessment with the owner before proceeding. The studio does not undertake to restore a piece to a condition beyond that which its existing components and movement permit.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, the studio's liability in respect of any service is limited to the value of fees paid for that specific service. The studio is not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect losses arising from service work, delays, or the condition of a piece on or after return.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Watch Care Calendar Conversation

The Watch Care Calendar Conversation is an informational session only. No adjustment, repair, or disassembly is performed during or arising from this session unless separately arranged as a distinct service. The written summary provided after this session is for the owner's personal reference and does not constitute a service record or a binding commitment on the part of the studio. The studio's observations during this session are advisory in nature.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, design elements, and descriptions, belongs to rambutanw or its contributors and may not be reproduced without written permission. Service photographs or case study materials shared with the studio by owners remain the property of those owners; the studio will not publish or share such materials without consent.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date. Terms applicable to a service already in progress at the time of any revision are those in force at the date the service was agreed.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
